We are a Clinic focusing on Medicinal Cannabis

Our Approach

We are excited to welcome patients from all walks of life. Our Medicinal Cannabis Doctors will take the time to understand your specific needs so that we can treat you effectively and safely. Understanding patient eligibility for medicinal cannabis can be very complex. Since cannabis is not for everyone, and it is not to be considered a magic cure for everything, our doctors perform medical assessments to determine patient eligibility, safety, and efficacy. Upon determining patient eligibility we can then manage the administrative requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia for you, and also the specific state application if required. We focus on safe and controlled administration of your medicinal cannabis treatment. We can screen for drug interactions and contraindications, and conduct follow-up medical consultations for continued assessment and maintain up-to-date patient progress.

Do I need a referral to book a Doctor’s Consult?

You can self-refer to our medicinal cannabis clinic, or seek treatment via a referral from your GP. If you are seeking a referral from your medical doctor, you will need to provide:

  • Your Medical Health Summary
  • Referral Letter from your GP
  • Any appropriate Imaging or Investigative Bloodworks

After deciding whether you want to self-refer, or request a formal referral from your regular doctor, the first step is to book an Initial Consultation with us.

Considerations when embarking on medicinal cannabis treatments

When seeking alternative treatment pathways, such as medicinal cannabis, it is important to carefully consider what you are hoping to achieve. This enables our doctors to tailor your cannabinoid treatment to your specific needs. Our range of cannabis prescriptions are not suitable for every patient, and it is important that you provide us with a full overview of your current health status, as well as any vitamins, supplements, over-the-counter and prescriptions medications you are taking.

Please let us know if you are planning any major lifestyle changes in the next year, such as becoming pregnant, undertaking a physical challenge like running a marathon, or extended travel plans, as this may influence the treatments we prescribe for you. The TGA would also like to see that you have tried other medications or therapies prior to applying to use Medicinal Cannabis, as Medicinal Cannabis in Australia is not a first line medication, rather it is approved as a last resort where all traditional medications have failed. Therefore, it is important to detail all your past therapies that you have tried prior to embarking on the medicinal cannabis treatment.
